About Gettysburg Area Gamers
The Gettysburg Area Gamers group has been gaming together for approximately 15 years. We are a group of people who were brought together by our interest in history. Many of our members are tour guides, re-enactors or historians. Many of us travel together to the Historicon, Cold Wars and Fall in conventions, and some of us also run games during the convention.
We play mostly beer and pretzel rule systems in order to keep the game fun and insure an outcome in 3-4 hours. The following time periods are what we predominately play: Boxer Rebellion, Zulu War, American Civil War, Ironclads, Vietnam, WWII all fronts, Napoleonics and Revolutionary War. We do not engage in Medieval, Roman or Ancients.
Our meetings are held every Thursday night at 6:00 pm in Gettysburg at the home of Bill Molyneaux. every third Thursday of the month, a game schedule is agreed upon by those members who are present. We also schedule family get togethers throughout the year to promote our camaraderie (and make our wives happy).
